New Testament Assembly Principles

  1. Audible male leadership in spiritual activities within the local church (1 Timothy 2:11-12; 1 Corinthians 14:34). This is upheld within the conference setting.
  2. Plurality of leadership within the local church by elders (Acts 20:17; 1 Peter 5:1). This is upheld by camp, but not applicable to our camp setting.
  3. Baptism of believers (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-37; 1 Peter 3:21). This is practiced at camp with the permission of family and/or leadership within the camper’s local church.
  4. Weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper, or Breaking of Bread (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30). Believers at conferences are encouraged to participate, provided they do so in their own local assembly.
  5. Men’s heads are uncovered in public spiritual activities (1 Corinthians 11:4). This is applied within the conference setting.
  6. Women’s heads are covered in public worship, prayer, and ministry of the Word (1 Corinthians 11:5, 10). This is fostered and promoted within the conference setting.
  7. Priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:10). This is implemented at camp through cabin devotions, prayer sessions, and Bible studies.
